THE DEVELOPMENT OF 2 DIMENSION VISUAL ART CREATIVE SKILL FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL ART TEACHER BY ACTIVE LEARNING

Abstract

This research aimed: 1) to develop the 2-dimension visual art work creative skill for primary school art teachers by active learning, and 2) to create 2-dimension visual art work by active learning. The samples of this research, obtained by a purposive sampling, were 20 visual arts teachers under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. The tool used in the research was the 2-dimension visual art work creative skill for primary school art teachers by active learning teaching method. It was found that the learners’ skills development got higher in all aspects. The score was .05 significantly higher than before the experiment according to the hypothesis. The results of the 2-dimension visual art work creative skill in all aspects had an average of 3.23 points which was in a good level according to the hypothesis. And the learners had creative art works by getting inspiration from nature, environment, beliefs or faith. The patterns were used to create concrete, abstract and semi-abstract patterns. Techniques used by students to create works included using gouache colors, oil pastel colors, and watercolors. Mixed colors were used to create ideas about happiness, beauty, peace, faith and mind.
