KEY SKILLS FOR RETAIL BRANCH OPERATIONS TRAINERS IN THE 2030s AN EXPLORATORY STUDY OF XYZ COMPANY LIMITED

Abstract

            This research aimed to: 1) examine the essential work skills required of retail branch operations trainers to be applied in the 2030s; 2) develop a program for developing the key skills of retail branch operations trainers in the 2030s; and 3) assess the knowledge of retail branch operations trainers after participating in the key skills development program for the 2030s. The research employed a mixed-methods research approach. The sample consisted of 15 retail branch operations trainers selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included a semi-structured in-depth interview, a pretest and posttest of knowledge, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis, while quantitative data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and a paired-samples t test.
            The results revealed that the important and key skills required of retail branch operations trainers in the 2030s comprised three skills: 1) analytical thinking skills; 2) digital technology skills; and 3) collaboration skills. The learning assessment results showed that the mean knowledge score before participating in the program was 14.53, while the mean score after participating in the program was 23.27. The posttest score was statistically significantly higher than the pretest score. The satisfaction assessment results showed that the participants’ overall satisfaction with the program was at the highest level.
