Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze Frederick Herberg's Two-Factor Theory employing philosophy of social science ,consisting of ontology, epistemology and methodology aspects. The results of the study found that Herzberg's Two-Factor theory had a fundamentalism and empirical ontological perspective. In epistemological aspect, Herzberg's Two-Factor theory had a positivism epistemological perspective focusing on creating a theory that could general application to predict phenomena. In methodological aspect, Herzberg's Two-Factor theory had a positivism methodological perspective based on scientific methodology. While, Herzberg's Two-Factor theory had an agent-based pattern of explanation.
