Abstract
This article delves into the early stages of Thailand–United States of America relations, spanning from the reign of King Rama III to King Rama V. The purpose is to study the background and the impacts of the Thai- U.S. Relationship on Thailand, especially in the areas of diplomacy and trade, tracing the details from The 1833 Treaty of Amity and Commerce between His Majesty the Magnificent King of Siam and the United States of America to the American missionaries who provide Thai with Western knowledge, and to the American government counsellors who have also made strides to improve the relationship of Thailand with other western countries.
