Guidelines for Promoting Good Governance of Municipalities in Pran buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study (1) the level of good governance of municipalities in Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province; (2) management strategies that affect the good governance of municipalities in Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province; and (3) guidelines for promoting good governance of municipalities in Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The quantitative research sample size used in this study was 164 municipality officers in Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, and 9 key informants. Data was treated and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods, which were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi-square test, and Multiple Regression Analysis. Findings were found that: (1) the level of good governance of municipalities in Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri khan Province was rated at a high level, (2) management strategies that affect good governance in Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in terms of shared value, personal skills, and management style aspects had relationships with good governance at the levels of statistical significant difference at 0.01, and (3) for guidelines for promoting good governance of municipalities in Pran Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, it was found that : using information technology as a progressive report tool, using the McKinsey 7’s framework to analyze internal factors, holding the meetings to consider and improve services, promoting proactive management to solve problems, holding meetings, giving private sectors to join public events, using law enforcement, promoting service mind training,  and having public spaces for joining activities should be focused.
