Abstract

This article is a part of the study on “The Inheritance of Wisdom: The Wisdom of Phetchaburi’s Carpentry Artisan towards the Creation of Contemporary Design Art for Continuation in the Present Context” is a presentation of creative work from studying the existence of the heritage, wisdom and cultural ways of the Phetchaburi’s carpentry artisan in the present context. The purposes of this work were to 1) develop the concept of creating mixed-technique paintings (wood panels and acrylic paint on canvas frames), 2) develop the value and importance of objects from the cultural and natural environment as inspiration for creativity in order to amplify the details with feelings towards understanding and reaching the truth of nature, that is, things that happen and exist, move and change within time according to the normal laws of all things as to pass on the wisdom in a simple format by bringing real objects from the cultural way of Phetchaburi’s carpentry artisan that has stood the test of time and remains in the present context. Communication with "genuine objects" and the composition of size, proportion, shape, atmosphere of color and space can express the creator's specific emotional viewpoint in a particular moment regarding the relationship between artistic elements and creating an understanding of three characteristics of existence (Trilak). The certainty of things that are impermanent inability to always exist in the same state and non-existence, nothing lasts without decay. According to Buddhist philosophy, “Sajjathatthu” is the truth of the primary interpretation of the intellectual heritage and cultural way of the Phetchaburi’s carpentry artisan
