Applications of QR Code Technology in the Management of Teaching and Learning at Tourist Attractions in Phetchaburi Province

Abstract

This research aimed to; 1) develop an instructional approach using QR Code technology for Phetchaburi tourist attractions integrated with Chinese translation, 2) compare learning achievement in instruction using QR Code technology for Phetchaburi tourist attractions, and 3) evaluate satisfaction toward the use of QR Code technology for Phetchaburi tourist attractions in instruction. The sample group consisted of 30 students enrolled in Thai-Chinese Translation for Tourism Industry course in the second semester of academic year 2023. The research instruments included; 1) QR Codes for Phetchaburi tourist attractions, 2) Pre and Post achievement tests, and 3) A satisfaction assessment form toward the use of QR Code technology for Phetchaburi tourist attractions in instruction. The research findings revealed that; 1) The development of an instructional approach using QR Code technology for Phetchaburi tourist attractions integrated with Chinese translation showed that QR Codes linking to Chinese language information about actual tourist attractions made learners feel more enjoyable and enthusiastic about learning. 2) The learning achievement results from instruction using QR Code technology for Phetchaburi tourist attractions showed that the pre-test mean score was 9.67 and the post-test mean score was 13.47, with the post-test score being significantly higher than the pre-test score at the 0.05 level of statistical significance. 3) The satisfaction evaluation results toward the use of QR Code technology for Phetchaburi tourist attractions in instruction showed a high level of satisfaction with the highest mean score of 4.17.
