The piece reflects the Buddhist belief associated with the Buddha's return to Earth from Tavatimsa Heaven, where he had ascended to pay homage to his mother. Upon his return, Buddhist followers awaited his descent and ceremoniously invited him to grace the mortal world atop a ceremonial throne (Busabok), which gave rise to the annual tradition of pulling the Buddha's chariot. The composition aimed to capture the ambiance and aesthetic beauty of this ritual by integrating traditional Southern Thai music with Western jazz. It incorporated the elements, such as Nora music, string instruments, and jazz orchestration, to create a unique fusion within a modern jazz orchestra framework. The piece utilizes traditional Southern Thai rhythms and melodies, and the rhythmic patterns derived from the ceremonial boat drumming were woven into the musical textures. Additionally, the use of techniques adapted from the transcription of English notation enhanced the dimensionality and distinctiveness of the music. The suite was divided into eight distinct sections: 1) Naga King 2) Dharmachakra (Wheel of Dharma) 3) Tak Bat Devo (Alms Offering) 4) Moving of the Sacred Boat 5) The Three Heavenly Stairs (Silver Stairs, Golden Stairs, Crystal Stairs) 6) Sedia Gestatoria (Busabok/Ceremonial Throne) 7) Lord Buddha Opens the World, and 8) Bestowal of Blessings, with a total duration of 40 minutes.
2025-01-25T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Thaksin University https://so05.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/parichartjournal/article/view/270979 A Study of Speech Acts on Campaign Signs of Candidates for Members of House of Representatives during the 2023 Election in Yala City Municipality 2024-06-07T16:21:02+07:00 Varavejbhisis Yossiri varavejbhisis.y@yru.ac.th Abdulhafiz Masaeduekapong varavejbhisis.y@yru.ac.th
This research aimed to study of speech acts on campaign signs of candidates for members of house of representatives in Yala City Municipality during the 2023 election. The research methods included in-depth interviews and document research. The In-depth interviews were conducted with five groups: politicians, local scholars, local media, district electoral canvassers, and Pak Phanang voters. The research findings revealed that political dynamics in Pak Phanang District can be divided into three periods. First, the political consolidation under the supremacy of the Democrat Party (2001-2011), and second, the popularity of General Prayuth Chan-o-cha (2019) led to the victory of the Palang Pracharath Party, a significant factor leading to the third period. The third period is the period of the coexistence victory of the United Thai Nation Party with the popularity of General Prayuth Chan-o-cha (2019-2023) at the party list level and the Democrat Party with the local political network of the Detdecho political family at the constituency level. Thus, Pak Phanang voters' political behavior and dynamics were not based on the notion of the moral candidate, as was the case during the Democrat Party's supremacy in the 2000s. The current political behavior and dynamics of Pak Phanang voters were based on the need for both a moral national leader and everyday economic well-being.
2025-01-25T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Thaksin University https://so05.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/parichartjournal/article/view/275597 Crisis Impact and Business Management in The Crisis Of Tourism Business in Thailand 2024-10-16T16:29:15+07:00 Siripong Rugmai siripong.ru@dtc.ac.th Wilasinee Yonwikai siripong.ru@dtc.ac.th Wacharakorn Mayuree siripong.ru@dtc.ac.th
The research aims to study the impact of the crisis on the tourism business, the government's crisis management measures, and the crisis management of the tourism business. This qualitative research was used to study the crises that affected the tourism business in Thailand over the past 20 years. The research methods included document research and an in-depth interviews with 10 people with experience in the tourism business crisis. The data was analyzed using the content analysis method. The research results revealed that the impact of the major crisis that caused the number of tourists to decrease the most was the COVID-19 crisis. International tourists decreased from 39.9 million in 2019 to only 400,000 in 2021. The government has measures to alleviate the economic impact during the tourism crisis by providing loans to tourism businesses and stimulating tourism with tax deduction measures. As for crisis management, most tourism businesses used strategies to generate income during the crisis by marketing to other tourist groups instead of the lost groups. They focus on Asian and Middle Eastern tourists instead of American and European tourists and find income from other channels instead of the main income from tourists. In particular, during the COVID-19 crisis, they focused on generating income from restaurants instead of income from rooms, as well as reducing costs and expenses by reducing unnecessary expenses and managing personnel by reducing the hiring of temporary employees, training employees to work in multiple departments, and closing some service areas.
2025-01-25T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Thaksin University https://so05.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/parichartjournal/article/view/275530 The Analysis of the Role of Cultural Landscape Elements Supporting Cultural Tourism in the Yom River Basin, Ban Tuek Subdistrict, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province 2024-10-31T12:08:15+07:00 Aumpika Amloy aumpika.amloy@cmu.ac.th
This research article aimed to identify and analyze the roles of various types of cultural landscape elements that supported cultural tourism in the Yom River Basin, Ban Tuek Subdistrict, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province. First, it explored the reflection of cultural values in Chinese society through Chinese proverbs that included the term "Tea" (茶). Second, it analyzed the linguistic meanings of these proverbs featuring "Tea" (茶) by compiling data from both physical and digital dictionaries of Chinese vocabulary and idioms, totaling 103 proverbs. The analysis employed a framework of linguistic meaning analysis within the theory of conceptual metaphor. The findings revealed that Chinese proverbs containing the term "Tea" reflected diverse cultural values in Chinese society, which could be categorized into six themes: 1) economic value and significance in Chinese life, 2) values associated with traditions and important rituals, 3) values related to hospitality and friendship, 4) beliefs regarding the medicinal properties of tea, 5) life philosophy, and 6) temporal aspects. Furthermore, the researcher interpreted metaphorical meanings as a transfer of meaning from the intrinsic qualities of the term "tea" to its broader implications, which could be classified into two groups: [humans as tea] and [inanimate objects as tea]. This categorization illustrated the Chinese conceptualization that compared tea to human experiences and various elements of life, encompassing emotions, actions, objects, and time.
2025-01-25T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Thaksin University https://so05.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/parichartjournal/article/view/275166 The Influence of Organizational Culture on the Job Satisfaction of Teachers and Educational Personnel: A Case Study of the Educational Office, Chiang Rai Municipality 2024-10-09T14:29:47+07:00 Thanapon Aupathi 668970022@crru.ac.th Waraduang Sommanasak waraduang.som@crru.ac.th Prayoon Imiwat prayoo.imi@crru.ac.th
This research article aimed to 1) investigate the level of organizational culture factors, 2) examine the level of job satisfaction factors among teachers and educational personnel at the Education Office, Chiang Rai Municipality, and 3) analyze the specific aspects of organizational culture that influence job satisfaction among teachers and educational personnel at the Education Office, Chiang Rai Municipality. CATWOE model became the main research framework used. Before COVID – 19 pandemics, Thailand had not the health policy and measures related to border trade and investment or SEZ’s health regulation. They have only the health guidelines for the whole country and only the health regulations for medical staff. In addition to, those health guidelines are not related to trade, investment, or commercial affairs. The Thai government tried to use the normal law for the COVID – 19 pandemic’s control in SEZs. It was not efficient because all laws could control the pandemic, and they obstructed trade, investment, and business. When COVID – 19 pandemic finishes. Thai government should have health guidelines for SEZs at local, national, international, and integrated levels because all levels can systematize the pandemic’s control and business support efficiently. Thai government should use the international cooperation for SEZ heath policy formulation such as APEC, ASEAN, GMS etc. Because, the health policy cannot be formulated by Thailand’s side and the health policy in Chiang Rai and Tak SEZs should collaborate with some stakeholder countries such as Laos, Myanmar, and C.R. China. The health policy will be the optimum guideline for the SEZ.
2025-01-25T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Thaksin University https://so05.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/parichartjournal/article/view/274885 Factors Affecting the Decision to Work as a Traditional Thai Massage Therapists for Health in the Central Business District of Bangkok 2024-12-05T22:34:15+07:00 Kirathakon Boonrod kirathakon@gmail.com
This research aimed to (1) examine the level of personal characteristics of working in the central business district of Bangkok, (2) investigate the level of social support factors influencing these Traditional Thai Massage Therapists, (3) assess the level of their career choices in Thai massage, and (4) identify the personal characteristic factors and social support factors affecting their decision to pursue a career in traditional Thai massage for health.
