Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate four antecedents of a successful Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation that included (1) information system resources, (2) information system capabilities, (3) executive support, and (4) business strategy. What contributed to the positive firm’s performance after successful implementation was also studied. Data from 2,692 Thai industrial firms in the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand were used. A mathematical model for the contributions of each of these factors was constructed. The result of ordinary least square regression revealed that the relationships between the four antecedents and a successful implementation are significant and positive. In addition, success in implementation had a positive effect on Thai firm performance. Conclusion, contributions, and suggestions for future research are presented.
