Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting decision making on selection of air traveling pattern of elderly people in Bangkok metropolitan area and vicinity.   The cluster sampling was used to obtain 500 samples of elderly people in Bangkok metropolitan area and vicinity. This study used descriptive statistics and advanced ordered logistic regression analysis for statistical analysis of the factors affecting the decision making of air traveling patterns: full-service carrier, and low-cost carrier. The study found that the elderly people decided to choose full-service carrier more than low cost carrier, with the factors of age, average monthly incomes, and physical limitations correlating with the decision making on selection of air traveling pattern of the elderly people.  The aviation industry needs to consider these factors in order to improve the services for elderly passengers.
