The objectives of this research article were to study international research from 2008-2017 in order to synthesize (1) significant research problems concerning media management; (2) concepts and theories underlying media management research; and (3) research methods employed. The 241 theses/dissertations were selected from ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global database, and 328 academic articles in three journals were obtained from SCImago Journal Rank (SJR).
