Ideologies in Thai Television Horror Dramas

Abstract

บทความนี้เป็นการศึกษาอุดมการณ์ในละครโทรทัศน์แนวผีของไทยที่ออกอากาศ ในช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2550-2555 จำนวน 9 เรื่อง ได้แก่ ปี่แก้วนางหงส์ สาปภูษา วายุภัคมนตรา รอยไหม บ่วง ปู่โสมเฝ้าทรัพย์ ภูตแม่น้ำโขง มือนาง และปางเสน่หา โดยใช้แนวคิด อุดมการณ์ของหลุยส์ อัลธูแซร์ประกอบกับการจำแนกประเภทของอุดมการณ์ใน ละครโทรทัศน์ของกาญจนา แก้วเทพ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า มีอุดมการณ์ตามแนวคิดของ กาญจนา แก้วเทพ ปรากฏอยู่ในละครโทรทัศน์แนวผีทั้งหมด 6 ประเภท ได้แก่ อุดมการณ์ศักดินา อุดมการณ์ทุนนิยม อุดมการณ์เรื่องคุณค่าของแต่ละเพศและ ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเพศ อุดมการณ์ชาตินิยม อุดมการณ์เกี่ยวกับความรุนแรง อุดมการณ์ทางไสยศาสตร์ และพบอุดมการณ์อื่นๆ เพิ่มอีก 3 ประเภท ได้แก่ อุดมการณ์พุทธศาสนาอุดมการณ์วิทยาศาสตร์ และอุดมการณ์เรื่องความรัก การนำเสนออุดมการณ์ในละครโทรทัศน์แนวผีเป็นการพยายามแสดงให้เห็นความเชื่อ แต่ละอุดมการณ์ ผ่านการแสดงให้เห็นข้อเสียของอุดมการณ์และแสดงให้เห็นถึงข้อดี รวมไปถึงประโยชน์ที่ควรรักษาความเชื่อเหล่านั้นไว้ ทั้งนี้อุดมการณ์ทั้ง 9 ประเภท ยังได้แสดงให้เห็นว่า ตัวบททางวรรณกรรมเป็นตัวบททางวัฒนธรรมที่มีการให้ความหมาย และคุณค่า ในเรื่องต่างๆ อีกทั้งยังสะท้อนให้เห็นว่า การนำเสนออุดมการณ์ที่หลากหลาย ยังคงอยู่ในสังคมไทย ลักษณะดังกล่าวจึงเป็นเสมือนการหล่อเลี้ยง และผลิตซ้ำทาง ความหมายให้แต่ละอุดมการณ์ยังคงอยู่ต่อไปContrasting ideologies can be found in Thai television horror dramas broadcast from 2007 to 2012. To help our understanding of these ideologies and how they blend into Thai society, the ideologies of Louis Althusser and classification of ideologies in television dramas by Kanchana Kaewthep are used as source material. The results of the study found that multiple ideologies, according to the writings of Kanchana Kaewthep, appeared in 6 types of television horror dramas. Those ideologies included: feudal ideology, capitalist ideology, ideology on gender value and gender relations, nationalist ideology, violence ideology, and black magic ideology. In addition the study found 3 other ideologies: Buddhism ideology, science ideology, and love ideology. The inclusion of these ideologies in television horror dramas was an attempt to show the relevance of the particular ideology in Thai society. This was accomplished by portraying both the advantages and disadvantages of a particular ideology and showing how useful it might or might not be in the context of the drama and Thai society. In addition, 9 types of ideologies indicated that literary text was indeed cultural text, which gave meaning and value, and that these various ideologies remain today in modern Thai society.
