LEARNING PACKAGE FOR MORALITY AND ETHICS DEVELOPMENT IN MORAL REASONING FOR OCCUPATION MASS MEDIA

Abstract

                The purposes of the research are to construct a learning package for morality and ethical development in moral reasoning for mass communication profession and to investigate the result of the learning package utilization. After the learning package has been designed, the One-Group Posttest-Only Design was employed in order to identify the result of using the learning package. During the first semester of 2017 academic year, 43 students perusing Master of Art in Communication Art joined the experiment as the subjects.

                  The research indicated that there are three learning stages in ethical and moral reasoning for journalism career; pre-learning activities, learning activities, and learning evaluation. There are four learning activities: ethics development and ethics in journalism, ethical reasoning for the neighbors, ethical reasoning for society. The series used in this research for learning activities can be developed for ethics and morality in ethical reasoning in the journalism profession in five areas: sacrifice, honesty. Responsibility, justice and public interest. The level of moral reasoning development for the mass media career was at the level of 2.
