OMPETENCIES AND GUIDELINE FOR DEVELOPING ADMINISTRATIVE COMPETENCY FOR PERSONS IN CHARGE OF BACHELOR OF NURSING SCIENCE CURRICULUM, NURSING COLLEGE UNDER PRABOROMARAJCHANOK INSTITUTE

Abstract

            Persons who are responsible for curriculum play a significant role in effectively manage the curriculum and produce successful outcome. Hence, the administrative competency development for ones in charge of curriculum is consequential. The objective of this article is to describe the competencies curriculum administrative including: 1) competencies in curriculum development, 2) competencies in knowledge management, 3) competencies in educational supervision, 4) competencies in quality assurance, 5) competencies in research for educational development, and 6) competency in information technology management. There are 5 steps in competency development: 1) analyzing needs and evaluating competencies before development, 2) planning competency development, 3) implementing competency development, 4) evaluating results of competency development, and 5) evaluating curriculum development outcomes. The frameworks for developing competency consist of training, observational study, workshop, taking action, coaching, and self-study. These frameworks will help the persons who in charge of curriculum become effective and successful in curriculum administration competency.
