State Jurisdiction for the Prevention and Control of Oil Pollution from Oil Tankers

Oil Pollution from oil tankers, either intentional or accidental discharge, is not merely a problem of a state. However, any state can be affected and damaged, i.e. coastal state, flag state, and port state, by such pollution to the marine environment. The çstate jurisdictioné is required to enact and enforce domestic laws under international law for prevention and control of oil pollution effectively.
