Strategies for Academic Administration of Private Schools Providing Teaching for the Blind in Thailand

Abstract
The purposes of this research were (1) to study the key components, current conditions, desirable conditions, and needs for academic administration of private schools providing teaching for the blind in Thailand; and (2) to create and develop strategies for academic administration of private schools providing teaching for the blind in Thailand. This is a mixed-method research involving both the quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. In the quantitative study, the research population consisted of 251 directors, deputy directors, section heads, and teachers of private schools providing teaching for the blind in Thailand. In the qualitative study, the key informants were 30 experts and persons involved in educational management from the Office of the Private Education Commission and private schools providing teaching for the blind in Thailand. The research instruments were questionnaires, an in-depth interview form, and a focus group discussion recording form. The qualitative data was analyzed with content analysis, while the quantitative data was statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, PNI Modified, and the survey component analysis. The research results reveal that 7 academic administration strategies have been created, with 23 strategic measures, and 79 indicators indicating the success of the strategy implementation.
