A Study on the Performance of Child Support Grant and the Preparedness in the Transfer of the Grant to the Local Administration Organization

Abstract

The study aims (1) to review the opinions of the Local Administration Organization (LAO) in regard to the performance of Child Support Grant (CSG) provided to newborn children (2) to review the preparedness of the LAO in regard to the performance of CSG
provided to newborn children (3) to compare the preparedness in the transfer of CSG from the Department of Children and Youth to the LAO.
The methodology is quantitative research. The sample is the management of 7,852 Local Administration Organizations, and the sample size is 1,135. The data analysis was conducted by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The representative sample consists of more women than men, the average of age is 40.9. The level of education of majority of the representative sample is bachelor’s degree. This information corresponds with the findings of the qualitative research. The overall opinions of the Local Administration Organizations about the performance of Child Support Grant confirm the strength of the Grant in providing benefits to children, families, and the society.
In concern of the opinions of the Local Administration Organizations about the preparedness in the transfer process, it is confirmed that they have medium to high level of preparedness in the policy (P), Environment (E), SocioCultural (S), Law and Regulation (L),
Technology (T) and Economics (E). it was found that difference the preparedness of organization in the transfer of the Grant from the Department of Children and Youth to the Department of Local Administration was significantly at the level of 0.01
