Promotion of Sports Play and Active Recreation (SPAR) for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract
This research aims to develop individuals with autism spectrum disorder’s competency on physical fitness, muscular strength, balance, and active movement through the innovation of video manual for practicing the skills of Keita Muay Thai aerobic. Methodology was an experimental research with a single sample group Single Subject Design (Multiple baseline design across subjects) Model A – B. Target group included 10 people (aged 15-30 years) with autism spectrum disorder in the Center for the Development of Autistic Persons, Khon Kaen Province. Research instrument was the evaluation of person with autism spectrum disorder’s competency in Keita Muay Thai. The findings revealed that person mean score on competency before the intervention was 24.1 and standard deviation was 8.54. person mean score on competency after the intervention was 43.1 and standard deviation was 11.9. Therefore, it indicates that the innovation of video manual for practicing the skills of Keita Muay Thai supports the development of individuals with autism spectrum disorder’s competency on physical fitness, muscular strength, balance, and active movement.
