An analytical study of Thai politicians’ ethics in the Buddhist morality

Abstract

        Objectives of this research paper are 1) to study ethics for politicians according to Buddhist principles and to analyze ethics of politicians according to the code of ethics and 2) to synthesize ethics of politician according to code of ethics and Buddhist principles.
       Results of the first objective (part 1) showed 11 ethical issues for politician according to Buddhist principles for politicians themselves, 9 ethical issues for politician according to Buddhist principles for serving other people and 6 ethical issues for politician according to Buddhist principles for serving society. Results of the first objective (part 2) showed 11 ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics for politicians themselves, 9 ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics for serving others people and 11 ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics for serving society.
         Results of the second objective showed 11 ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics for politicians themselves and 11 items which are consistent with ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics. Nine ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics for serving others and 9 items which are consistent with ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics. And 6 ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics for serving society and 11 items which are consistent with ethical issues for politician according to the code of ethics.
