Tourism Potential of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Bang Khen District, Bangkok, Thailand

Abstract

The aim of this study is to (1) explore the cultural heritage in Bang Khen (2) to develop tourism related to the cultural heritage of Bang Khen District, Bangkok, Thailand (3) to evaluate  tourism potential of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Tourism Plan in Bang Khen District. Qualitative research methods are used in this study. The research instrument including the survey of the cultural heritage of the Ministry of Culture and the data analysis is used. The data is analyzed using a content-based analysis method. The results of the research show that 1) Cultural heritage in Bang Khen consists of 6 issues: folk literature and language; performing arts; social practices in rituals, traditions and festivals; knowledge and practices regarding nature and the universe; traditional craftsmanship; and folk play. 2) The tourism of Cultural Heritage Tourism in Bang Khen District is composed of one day trips, and, 3) tourism potential of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Tourism in Bang Khen District can be presented into 5 components as follows: attractions, accessibility, amenities, accommodation, and activities.
