Southern Fujian Province is located in the coast of Fujian Province, China, under the influences of sea culture. This creates the identity of local architectures in Southern Fujian Province as part of the original Chinese architectures. However, rapid development of the modern society has brought gradual disappearance of those original architectures from people’s way of life. The compositions of the original aesthetics have gradually been replaced by modern aesthetics. The research on the aesthetics of traditional architectures in Southern Fujian Province aimed to study the historical and cultural background, artistic identity, cultural implications, and significance of the original architectural compositions in Southern Fujian Province. The research was implemented based on documents and a field survey. Then, the data related to art and culture of traditional architectures in Southern Fujian Province was collected, integrated, and analyzed. The results revealed that the aesthetic identity of traditional architectures in Southern Fujian Province was reflected through their structures, colors, rhythms, and figures; including decoration identity, i.e., decorating styles and connotations of architectural decoration. The research on these aesthetic compositions indicated the cultural heritage of architectures in Southern Fujian Province. Also, it is to promote better inheritance as well as development of architectural culture in Southern Fujian Province in the modern age.
