Changes of Low-Income Housing in Subsinkao Community Wangthonglang District, Bangkok

Abstract

The article titled Changes of low-income Housing in the Subsinkao Community Wangthonglang District, Bangkok is part of the thesis titled Changes of low-income Housing in the Subsinkao Community Wangthonglang District, Bangkok.  This study was aimed at studying the housing design and categorizing the changes in the building components after the construction of housing and the changes in the physical features of the housing.

From our housing survey, we found that there were certain changes of the building features for 22 middle-sized homes by changing the building components.  We have categorized such changes into 4 groups including wall, door, window and balcony.  Changes in 4 components of 15 housing accounted for 68.19%.  Changes in 3 components of 5 housing accounted for 22.73% Changes in 2 components accounted for 4.54%.  Moreover, change in 1 component accounted for 4.54%   

From our study, we found that the most changes in the components of these housing was the wall.  They did not do the gouging for 100%. They changed the door style into the single doors for 36.36%.  They changed the windows style into the aluminum frame glass windows for 50%.  Moreover, they changed the balcony style into the tiles flooring for 68.18, respectively.
