การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อพัฒนาแบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อความเข้าใจที่เน้นการเรียนศัพท์ จากเนื้อหางานเทศกาล โดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบกิจกรรมเป็นฐาน ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 75/75 (2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถด้านศัพท์ และการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจของนักเรียนก่อนและหลังการใช้แบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษ (3) เพื่อศึกษาความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนที่มีต่อแบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษ กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โรงเรียนนวลนรดิศวิทยาคม รัชมังคลาภิเษก จำนวน 16 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ คือ (1) แบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อความเข้าใจที่เน้นการเรียนศัพท์จากเนื้อหางานเทศกาล (2) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบกิจกรรมเป็นฐาน (3) แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษ (4) แบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจ สถิติที่ใช้ คือ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการทดสอบค่าที
ผลการศึกษา (1) แบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษมีประสิทธิภาพเท่ากับ 76.87/77.08 ถือว่าอยู่ในเกณฑ์ดี (2) ความสามารถในด้านศัพท์ และการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจหลังจากใช้แบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียน สูงกว่าก่อนใช้แบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (3) ความคิดเห็นที่นักเรียนมีต่อแบบฝึกเสริมทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษ มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 4.34 อยู่ในระดับดี
