Abstract

This paper provides more understandings or concepts of the employment
relations and status of the gig economy from the labour perspective. The decent work is
perspectives of positive impact because it explains the phenomenon of the dominance
of a new platform business and reflects a gap of international labour standards. However,
the gig economy is lack of a clear interpretation, it often focuses on the business
perspective and leads to human rights abuse and exclusion of social protection systems.
Therefore, preliminary suggestions for labour platforms and reveal an overview of labour
in the group of high-risk levels, such as food delivery and domestic work. Furthermore,
the Ministry of Labour should review the role of labour administration because types of
employment in the gig economy are not self-employment. In fact, it is an interaction of
employment relations in the form of subcontracting by a private employment agency.
