Abstract

Policy research has been used as a tool for policy study, aiming at considering the impact, quality, and policy needs of stakeholders as well as the awareness of ideology consideration and interests in the public policy process under a systematic and diverse educational methodology based on the belief in participation, policy stakeholders and feedback. Policy research has been an important tool of the Great Powers since 1980. This article aims to study the expansion of the scope of policy research, policy research limitations, and policy research case studies. The study found that policy research has expanded its scope of study with the aim of not only influencing traditional research methods or policy sciences but also to influencing education in conjunction with other sciences. Even though policy research has such influence, it has been criticized
for limiting its universality and its weaknesses to forecast or predict phenomena. According to the findings from the policy research case studies, policy research is outstanding in terms of the educational process due to the awareness and emphasis on the role of public policy stakeholders from all sectors.
