การศึกษาวัจนกรรมในเพลงประท้วง (Protest Songs) ยอดนิยมตลอดกาล

บทคัดย่อ
วัตถุประสงค์ของงานวิจัยนี้คือ (1) เพื่อจำแนกประเภทวัจนกรรมที่ปรากฏในเพลงประท้วงตามกลุ่มวัจนกรรมของ John R. Searle (1969) (2) เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะวัจนกรรมตรงและวัจนกรรมอ้อมที่ปรากฏในเพลงประท้วง (3) เพื่อศึกษาว่าเพลงประท้วงนั้นมักกระตุ้นให้ผู้ฟังทำอะไรและใช้กลวิธีทางภาษาอะไรในการกระตุ้น ผู้วิจัยรวบรวมรายชื่อเพลงประท้วงจำนวน 10 เพลง ที่ได้รับการจัดอันดับจากเว็บไซต์โรลลิ่งสโตน (Rolling Stone) ในปี ค.ศ. 2014 ให้เป็น 10 เพลงประท้วงยอดนิยมตลอดกาล โดยนำเนื้อเพลงมาจากเว็บไซต์ Genius.com ในการวิเคราะห์เนื้อเพลงถ้อยคำที่อยู่ในแต่ละเพลงจะถูกนำออกมาวิเคราะห์ โดยที่หนึ่งโครงสร้างประโยคในภาษาอังกฤษจะนับเป็นหนึ่งถ้อยคำ (Utterance) ซึ่งในหนึ่งถ้อยคำอาจมี คำ วลี อนุประโยคเป็นส่วนประกอบด้วยก็ได้ นอกจากนี้ประโยคที่มีการร้องซ้ำในท่อนคอรัสของเพลงจะไม่ถูกนับซ้ำ
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า (1) ในจำนวนถ้อยคำที่ถอดมาได้ 181 ถ้อยคำ พบว่ามีการใช้วัจนกรรมในกลุ่มการกล่าวแสดงออก (Expressives) มากที่สุดเป็นจำนวน 84 ถ้อยคำ รองลงมาเป็นวัจนกรรมกลุ่มการกล่าวความจริง (Representatives) จำนวน 67 ถ้อยคำ อันดับที่ 3 วัจนกรรมกลุ่มการกล่าวชี้นำ (Directives) จำนวน 24 ถ้อยคำ และวัจนกรรมกลุ่มการกล่าวผูกพัน (Commissives) จำนวน 6 ถ้อยคำ ทั้งนี้ไม่พบวัจนกรรมกลุ่มการกล่าวประกาศ (Declarations) โดยส่วนมากมักพบว่าผู้แต่งมักใช้วัจนกรรมย่อยในวัจนกรรมกลุ่มการกล่าวแสดงออก ได้แก่ วัจนกรรมการแสดงความคิดเห็น วัจนกรรมการเสียดสี วัจนกรรมการตำหนิ ในการแสดงอารมณ์ความรู้สึก รวมถึงทัศนคติของตนเองต่อเรื่องราวที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคม (2) พบวัจนกรรมตรงจำนวน 87 ถ้อยคำ และวัจนกรรมอ้อม จำนวน 94 ถ้อยคำ โดยวัจนกรรมอ้อมมักถูกใช้ในบทเพลงที่มีเนื้อหาเสียดสีสังคมหรือรัฐบาล วิพากษ์วิจารณ์สิ่งต่าง ๆ เป็นต้น (3) บทเพลงส่วนใหญ่ใช้วัจนกรรมกลุ่มการกล่าวแสดงออก ซึ่งเป็นการกระตุ้นผู้ฟังให้มีอารมณ์ร่วมกับเหตุการณ์และนำไปสู่การตัดสินใจเข้าร่วมขบวนการต่อสู้ด้วยตัวผู้ฟังเอง
