Abstract
This study aimed to examine the problem and legal measure on public participation in the administration of cultural landscapes. Because of the changes in modern society that have focused on technological and industrial development that have subsequent effects on the environment, the promotion of public awareness and priority for the environment is therefore necessary for all sectors to participate in the care and management of the environment together. This is particularly true in regions where cultural and natural elements coexist. Humans and nature, residing in the same territorial area or landscape, form a close link, known as the cultural landscape. To ensure the proper protection and preservation of the cultural area, we must define legal provisions as criteria or practices, and implement actions to preserve and protect these areas. Both in the role of state agencies and in the participation of the public sector, be clear, comprehensive, and appropriate to the current situation.
The study found that, at present, there are no laws applicable exclusively to the administration of cultural landscapes and that the population in the area lacks participation in the management of cultural and natural landscape areas. Therefore, it is imperative to study the legal issues to address improvements in the public's participation in the administration of cultural, natural, and environmental areas in order to ensure that they are sustainable and livable in a valuable way.
