The A Study of The Student Teachers' Desirable Characteristics of School of Education, University of Phayao

Abstract
The study aimed to 1) study the desirable characteristics of teacher-students, School of Education, University of Phayao, 2) to compare the desirable characteristics of teacher-students, School of Education, University of Phayao between gender and discipline groups. Data collection was conducted using the questionnaire for desirable characteristics of the teacher-students, School of Education, University of Phayao with 236 teacher- students as a sample obtained by a simple random method from the total population are 2,721 students. Data analysis was implemented using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, and inferential statistics including t-test statistic. Findings were as follows:
1. Overall and each of the desirable features of teacher-students are at a high level.
2. Comparison of desirable characteristics of teacher-students Indicated the followings:
2.1 Overall, male and female students' desirable characteristics and each side are not different.
2.2 Overall, desirable characteristics of teacher-students from scientific discipline and social science disciplines are not different and when each aspect was considered, the level in the desirable characteristics of teacher-students from social science disciplines in speaking was higher than the teacher-students in the scientific field at a statistically significant .01 level. There was a difference found in the aspect of virtues, knowledge, positive thinking, mentality and physicality, good conservation, and good leadership.
