Abstract

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the Potential Development Project of Small, Medium and Large Villages and Communities (SML) in the fiscal year 2008. A total of 2,513 villages and communities throughout Thailand were involved. Results revealed that the SML Project conformed with the communities’ needs. The Project achieved its goals, affecting the way of community life, and promoting the development of sufficient economies. Factors enhancing success were 1) community participation; 2) the competencies, morals and ethics of leaders and committees; and 3), the transparency of management.
