Abstract

This paper discusses the application of EEG (electroencephalography) research to areas of cognitive science. As the field of cognitive science has a central role in developing knowledge of the human brain, an EEG-based study of external stimuli might serve as a multidisciplinary, value-adding contributor to our understanding of the brain. The contents of this paper have to do with basic EEG data recording, task design for generating appropriate stimuli, fundamentals of EEG interpretation, and research issues and points of view for cognitive science researchers interested in the potential of EEG.
