An Investigation of the Constructs of a Yes/No Test
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to investigate what a yes/no test actually tests. The participants were 62
undergraduates in a public university in Thailand. The principle research instrument was the
Vocabulary Knowledge Scale (VKS). This study concerns a comparison of participant responses on the yes/no test and selected categories on the VKS. It was found out that the yes/no test seemed to test both word recognition and word meaning. It was also found that 20% of the responses indicated that the participants either overestimated or underestimated their own vocabulary knowledge.
