Abstract

The objectives of the Evaluation of the Project of Student Camps for Learning Moral and Sufficiency Economy 2009 were to assess the execution and activities of the project, study the satisfaction of participating students, and summarize the knowledge (basic morals) that students gained from the project as applied in their daily lives. Samples consisted of 45 higher education administrators, 31 site supervisory instructors, and 1,028 participating students. Various tools were used to gather data: indepth-interview form, structured-interview form, and questionnaires. On-site data collection was conducted during June - September 2009. Data analysis focused on the calculation of suitable descriptive statistics, as well as t-tests, F ratios and content analysis. The project results were as follows: 1) With regard to aspects of administrative management, the performance activities achieved overall project objectives and targets. 2) A study of the participating students' satisfaction for the Learning Moral and Sufficiency Economy 2009 project revealed that they felt highly satisfied. 3) After their participation, students perceived eight perspectives to their newly-gained knowledge: 1) self dependence as related to community economy; 2) the ways democracy was applied in their communities; 3) community culture related to community strength; 4) community unity; 5) sustaining natural resources; 6) local wisdom; 7) immunization creation in the community; and 8) morals for life. High levels of knowledge application were observed among the students.
