A Study of the Elements of the Development of Vocational Education Institutions in the Eastern Region of Thailand to be an Educational Innovative Organization in the Digital Era

Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the elements of the development of vocational education institutions in the Eastern region of Thailand to be an educational innovative organization in the digital era. The research used a qualitative methodology by in-depth interviews with 18 administrators, based on a specific selection of administrators. Data collection using open end structured interview guide. Analysis of emphasis and coherence data. The research method was carried out in 4 stages: 1) the study, documents and relevant research reports, 2) the data collection and composition, 3) the analysis and synthesis of the composition, and 4) the appropriate component verification and confirmation stages using connoisseurship based on 9 experts in vocational education.
The research study revealed that the elements of the development of vocational education institutions in the Eastern region of Thailand to be an educational innovative organization in the digital era consist of nine key elements: 1) defining the vision and strategy that will lead to an innovative educational organization; 2) the organization structure of appropriate educational innovation; 3) creating an organizational culture that supports educational innovation in all dimensions; 4) models, processes and practices that are conducive to the creation of educational innovation; 5) innovative leadership team committed to an effective educational innovation organization; 6) innovative ecosystem and team for educational innovation; 7) promotion of personnel to initiate and develop quality educational innovation; 8) inspiring student learning and professional skills training for diverse societies; and 9) developing professional skills of learners in line with the project to develop the Eastern Economic Corridor in the digital era of Thailand. The research results can be applied in the development and creation of vocational education institutions to be an organization of innovation in education in the digital age with efficiency for the development of national vocational education
towards sustainability.
