Abstract

This study empirically investigates the relationship between poverty and a local government budget allocation, in which the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) allocates its budget directly to each of Bangkok districts. In addition, the factors determinants of the BMA budget poverty and the budget allocation. However, the budget allocation is found to be determined by the size of population, area, and the ratio of elder population. Besides, urban districts are found to receive higher budget compared with rural districts. Finally, the party of each elected BMA councilor does not find to influence the BMA budget allocation.
