Wan Wi Wah: Making a Theatre for Creating Space of Audiences’ Learning about Violence Issues in Public Area through the Interactive Theatre.

Abstract

This article aimed to explain the creation of a theatre production titled Wan Wi Wah, which has two objectives: 1. To Find strategies for creating Interactive Theater for presenting and creating learning experiences about violence issues in a public area, 2.To provide audiences to understand and assess the violent situation and apply it to daily life by collecting methods and experiences through the performance. The creation divides into three steps: 1.The process of creating and developing plot and performance text 2.The process of making and developing theatre production, and 3. the presentation and evaluation of performance. The results found that 1. Creating plot and Performance text uses comparison situations and characters from news events by combining academic information and creators’ main idea through devising theatre process, which can improve the story and present substance/believability to audiences. 2. To provide an opportunity for audiences to participate with actors between performing same as Interactive theatre can make the audiences learn and understand violence issues through a realistic situation in performance. 3. Audiences are well aware of how to cope with or survive in the face of violent situations.
