Characteristics of Thai dance by Naresuan University based on Mangkala Band

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the concept, the process of creating creative dance performances and the characteristics of creative dance performances using by the Mangkhla Band of Naresuan University. This is the documentary and
the qualitative research with structured interviews from two groups of key informants which is the faculty members and the students be a create. The results of the study were as follows: 1. There was a difference in the concept of creating creative dance performance using by the Mangkhla Band of Naresuan University because the faculty members presented their ideas within the university's policy framework, whereas
the students presented with the project to create work on the choreography framework in the study course of the department of Performing Arts, the department of
Thai Dramatic Arts. 2. The process of creating creative dance performances using by
the Mangkhla Band of Naresuan University uses 7 procedures to create creative dance performances which are 2.1) Research 2.2 Select a song 2.3 Define content format and scope 2.4 Choreography 2.5 Casting 2.6 Design another display element and
2.7 performance modification and 3. The characteristics using by the Mangkhla Band of Naresuan University included four main parts; 3.1 Music 3.2 Costume 3.3 Performance’s equipment and 3.4 Performance which includes the band’s arrangement and different styles of performance. Because of the various creative conceptual frameworks,
the characteristics of creative dance performances are not entirely clear. Faculty members' research was inspired by what was in Phitsanulok, but students' research was inspired by what was outside of Phitsanulok's area to create their works.
