Cultural Product Development : Yok Dok Woven Textiles of Lum Poon

Abstract

This research has purposed to develop the cultural product of Yok Dok woven textile of Lum Poon province which would become a guideline for further developing efficiency of the local woven textiles community to response demand of present consumers for cultural products. Purpose of this research are 1. to study preference of General M consumers for lifestyle products which made of local woven textiles and take the findings to create guideline for developing woven textiles 2. to redesign structures of weaving patterns Yok Dok woven textiles and remake the textiles with different materials. The outcome of research revealed 2.1) using rayon yarn for weft in the weaving cause sleek feeling to the textile 2.2) 5 redesigned weaving patterns which able to be used on both sides and weaved by adding golden and silver threads to them cause iridescent and shine looks at the textile. Result of evaluation score for development of Yok Dok woven textiles of Lum Poon province is at high level with average score at 4.43 and standard derivation at 0.26
