The Creation of Dance Performance Influenced by Buriram Province’s Motto : Buriram Burirom

Abstract

The study of the creation of the dance performance influenced by Buriram province’s motto : Buriram Burirom dance aimed to 1) study the patterns and elements of creating the dance derived from the Buriram province’s motto: Buriram Burirom dance, 2) study the thoughts after creating the dance based on the Buriram province’s            motto: Buriram Burirom dance, 3) determine the creating efficiency in dancing regards to creativities, appropriate, and satisfaction of the experts who watched the dance performance before launched the performance to public. The study was conducted by reviewed from books, academic papers, journals and review of related literature along with the interviews, observations and personal experiences from the researcher gathered to create the dance.

          The results from this study showed that the formats of this creation of the dance consists of 8 elements as the following; 1) The script is divided into 3 acts, inspired by the motto of Buriram Province, 2) Performers, there were 9 people who had various skillful in dancing, 3) Dancing patterns, required a combination of a variety of traditional dances, 4) Costumes, designed by the Buriram local clothes to be a part of the costumes, 5) Performance props, they were designed to present the direct and indirect meanings, 6) Sound and music, the Northeastern musical instruments were blended with the electronic sounds to induce the enjoyable mood and clearly conveys the cultural identity of Buriram Province, 7) Performing stage, open stage and present the Buriram province, and 8) Lightning, using mainly on the natural light. In addition, the researcher considered the 4 thoughts received after creating the dance; 1) Creativity in dance 2) Use of symbols in dance creation 3) Dance theory music and visual arts, and 4) Creating dance in accordance with the motto of Buriram Province, the researcher sought for the efficient in the creating of the dance towards the appropriateness and the satisfaction which was in the highest level from the 5-expert who approved before launching the dance performance to public.
