The purpose of this academic article is to synthesize knowledge from the process of creating children's book illustrations that promote learning, entertainment and
dissemination to the public. The results of synthesizing knowledge from various children's book data from the past to the present lead to the principles of creating children's book illustrations for ages 3-8, 2D format, the design process for children using watercolors that can promote imagination in children of this age according to the principles of child psychology, and horizontal images of 28x40 centimeters that will help children imagine images like watching a movie, to the principles of evaluating children's books. It was discovered that the creation of children's book illustrations must give importance to the
concept of content and the format of children's books that will convey the importance of children's books, which focus on allowing children to practice their thinking experiences and promote intellectual development, especially the creation of illustrations that are appropriate for children at each age, allowing children to easily understand stories and knowledge. In addition, stories also help create enjoyment and fun in children's reading, leading to better knowledge and understanding of stories from children's books.
