Designing bags using the unique concept of Phu Thai Kalasin fabric pattern

This study aimed to: 1) study the identity of Phu Thai Kalasin fabric pattern, 2) design bag products using the concept of the identity of Phu Thai Kalasin fabric pattern, and 3) create prototypes of bag products using the concept of the identity of Phu Thai Kalasin fabric pattern.
The sample group was a group of knowledgeable people, including product designers, designers of woven fabric patterns, entrepreneurs in 3 districts: Kham Muang, Khao Wong, and Na Khu, 60 community customers, and 100 people who were interested. In terms of product design, 3 types of 9 bags were made with 3 Phu Thai Kalasin fabric patterns, including Khit Dok Hang Pawa pattern, Khit Nak Um Dok Krabuan pattern, and contemporary Khit Kham Phio pattern. The tools used were a pattern selection form, a bag selection form, an interview form, a questionnaire, an observation form, and a satisfaction assessment form. The data were analyzed using descriptive interpretation and evaluating the values as percentages.
The study results of bag product design selected 2 pieces of ancient pattern cloth: Khit Dok Hang Pawa pattern and Khit Nak Um Dok Krabuan pattern. This was because most of the consumers liked to buy fabrics with ancient patterns. The customers thought they are beautiful and unique. On the other hand, the contemporary Khit Kham Phio pattern is new, beautiful, and modern. Therefore designed 3 types of bags, 3 patterns. The results of satisfaction assessment revealed that number 1 was shoulder bags with 100 people who were interested and the overall opinion was at the highest level (=4.72, SD=0.44), followed by hand bags with the overall opinion at the highest level (==4.70, SD=0.42), and oversized bags had the overall opinion at the highest level (==4.67, SD=0.41).
