Text Art is a form of contemporary art that emphasizes the integration of language and visual language to communicate meaning, concepts, and emotions through visual art. Text art does not use letters solely for aesthetic purposes; rather, it incorporates language as an essential element in conveying meaning through visual perception. Therefore, this article aims to examine the significance of text art and approaches to the use of text in visual art.
The study is divided into two parts. The first part explores the importance of text art by examining the differences and relationships between language and visual language. The second part investigates the use of text in visual art through an analysis of contemporary artists’ works. The approaches to using text can be categorized into two forms: the use of text with colors (Texts and Colors) and the use of text with images (Texts and Images).
The findings indicate that the integration of text with visual elements enhances the depth of meaning and expands the possibilities for interpretation. The knowledge gained from this study can be applied to the further development of artistic practices.
