User Behavior Study for Master Plan Development with Sustainable Development Goals for an Inclusive and Equitable Society A Case Study of Srinakharinwirot University, Prasarnmit Campus

The Master Plan Design of Srinakharinwirot University was developed based on the university's 20-year strategic plan, incorporating key concepts from Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Bio-Circular-Green Economic Model (BCG), and Universal Design. The research methodology involved collecting data from three distinct stakeholder groups within the university community (1) students, faculty, staff, and individuals with disabilities, (2) administrative personnel including faculty, staff, and directors, and (3) students and other relevant stakeholders. Data collection was conducted through focus group discussions, interviews, and questionnaires. The gathered information was subsequently analyzed and presented to the research team to inform the master plan design of Srinakharinwirot University's Prasarnmit campus.
This research paper details the methodological approach, findings, and recommendations for improving the university's physical environment based on data collected from the three sample groups. The analysis framework utilized four key dimensions for proposed spatial improvements: 1. Social 2. Economic 3. Environmental 4. Cultural. These dimensions were considered within human diversity and inclusion, aiming to create an environment where all individuals can participate in educational and social life without barriers. The research emphasizes that social and psychological support systems are crucial elements beyond physical infrastructure modifications that cannot be overlooked. Space improvements should promote learning opportunities and foster an understanding of the importance of equitable coexistence within the university community. The study's findings suggest that the University master plan should reflect a comprehensive approach to accessibility and inclusivity, integrating sustainable development principles with universal design concepts. This integration ensures that the campus environment serves diverse user needs while maintaining environmental responsibility and cultural sensitivity. The research contributes to the broader discourse on inclusive higher education spaces and provides a framework for other institutions seeking to implement similar improvements in their physical infrastructure.
