Phrae Province is actively pursuing its "Furniture City" policy, promoting its significant furniture and wood product industries, particularly in the High Phrae and Den Chai districts. However, this production process generates a substantial amount of wood waste and sawdustup to 20% of daily output which is often managed by burning, leading to pollution and lost economic value. The researcher identifies an opportunity to apply joinery techniques to this wood waste, aiming to increase the products' value, aesthetics, and strength. This approach aligns with Sustainable Design principles, emphasizing the maximum utilization of resources and waste reduction without compromising product quality or utility. The research project, "Creating Added Value from Teak Wood Waste in the Teak Processing and Furniture Making Group, Phra Luang Subdistrict, Sung Men District, Phrae Province, Using Joinery Techniques," aims to study and develop joinery techniques for creating value from wood waste and to transfer this knowledge and product prototypes to the community. The teak processing and furniture making group in Phra Luang Subdistrict, Sung Men District, Phrae Province is the primary target group for this participatory action research, which employs a mixed-method research approach combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. The anticipated outcomes include the development of valuable product prototypes from wood waste through intricate joinery, leading to policy recommendations that will support and develop Phrae Province's teak product industry, ultimately helping it achieve its goal of becoming a sustainable "Furniture City." Character disguise is therefore not merely a narrative device but a codified performance practice that can be transmitted systematically, and the three-stage model offers a concrete framework for training Thai classical dancers in roles requiring transformation and disguise.
