Tourists’ Motivations for Traveling in Muang District, Songkhla Province

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) examine the motivation level of Thai tourists, traveling in Muang district,
Songkhla province and ( 2) compare their motivation level by their gender, age, occupation, income per
month and hometown. The research sample consisted of 400 Thai tourists, traveling in Muang district,
Songkhla province. The research instrument was questionnaires. Data wasanalyzed via independent
sample t-test, one-way ANOVA using SPSS. The result indicated that (1) the overall tourists’ motivation
was at high level, and (2) tourists with difference in their age, income per month and hometown, having
different level of motivation. Entrepreneurs, government and private sectors, involving in tourism industry
should concern more about the management of tourism products, transportation, public relation and
facilities respectively, and provide tourism services for tourists segmented by their age group, income and
hometown.
