Overture “Punjarak Thaksina” for Thai Music Ensemble

Abstract

This research article aimed to find out an innovation to compose the Overture
“Punjarak Thaksina” for Thaksin University within two-year period. This research study has three steps: 1) collecting information from documents related to thaksin University’s music sheets 2) analyzing data mood volume melody music and 3) analyzing identity of 4 Thaksin University songs. The findings showed that those 4 song convey the meaning of Thaksin University as a pillar of musical education in the South of Thailand. Those songs present magnificent and superiority of Thaksin University. The song ‘Thaksin, a Land of Love’ presents affection, Parichart Shade song presents relationship between two campuses, Songkhla and Phatthalung, and the song ‘Thalung Consolation’ presents the beautiful natural geo-architectural location of the univerity.
