Participatory Action Research for Mangrove Forest Management by Community: A Case Study of Ban Bang Kluainok, Amphoe Suksamran, Changwat Ranong

Abstract

              The objectives of this research were to study: the management of mangrove forests, knowledge management process and the factors supporting for mangrove forest management, and development of knowledge management process for mangrove forest management by community through participatory action research at Ban Bang Kluainok, Tambon Kamphun Amphoe Suksamran, Changwat Ranong. The finding are as follows: 1) The results of operational management of mangrove resources found that the community has carried out three activities which are, (1.1) mangroves planting, (1.2) releasing marine species in the mangrove areas, and 1.3) establishment mangrove forest rules. 2) The results of development of knowledge management process for mangrove forest management by community found that Participatory Action Learning of Community Knowledge Management Process = PAL community knowledge management process, are composed of two main parts, including, (2.1) community knowledge management process which consists of 12 steps, and (2.2) supporting factors of knowledge management community process which consists of 17 factors. The activities based on practicing to develop performance and create competent of participants are important to create knowledge management of community and to implement for resource self management in the community which is the important key of Sustainable Development.
