A Comparison of Factors Affecting Monthly Rooms Rental around Chiang Mai Rajabhat University

Abstract

This quantitative research article aimed to compare personal factors and other factors affecting decision making of students and workers to rent monthly rooms around Chiang Mai Rajabhat University. The questionnaires were collected from 600 samples. The non-probability was assigned by purposive sampling, quota sampling and accidental sampling. The data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage and Chi-square test. The results found that the samples were different from their ages, marital status, income, education, number of members per room, rental agreement period, choices available before making the decision and personal vehicles. The students and workers decided to rent a room by considering room factors differently on the issues of oldness and newness of the room and types of room available. They considered price factors differently on the issues of monthly rental rate, monthly internet usage fees, and late payment fees. While service provider factors differed on the issues of human relations or friendliness of service providers, advising and providing service information, and equal service standards. In addition, service and facility factors were also differently on the issues of closed-circuit television [CCTV] for security, internet connection availability, coin-operated washing machines, keycard system, and accommodation services for all professions and zoning room for students and workers.
