The Development of Chinese Vocabulary Learning Activities with Chinese Music Sets for University Students

Abstract

This research aims to develop the instructional package of learning Chinese vocabulary with songs for effectiveness and efficiency in higher education of Suratthani Rajabhat University students at the bachelor’s degree in Chinese including 29 first-year students and 42 second-year students. The study compared the achievement of pre-learning and post-learning of the students. The research instruments included the instructional packages of learning Chinese vocabulary with 7 songs invented by the author and the exercises for the instructional packages and Chinese vocabulary tests created by the author. The study found that the effectiveness and efficiency of the instructional package of learning Chinese vocabulary with songs was 80.06/88.65, regarded highly effective. The samples’ post-learning scores


were higher than pre-learning scores with a statistical significance of .05. In conclusion, the instructional package of learning Chinese vocabulary with songs enlarges students’ vocabulary and has learning proper effectiveness and efficiency to actively engage in teaching Chinese.
