Abstract

The main objective of this research is to study the current state of graphics and packaging. To identify cultural symbols that lead to the designing of the graphic and packaging. And assess the graphics and packaging of loincloth products from the Thai Song Dam Group. This mixed research project uses over 108 samples. Research tools consist of an interview script and a questionnaire. Data are analyzed for percentages, means, standard deviations, and t-test values. The finding reveals that currently, there are various types of graphics and packaging. Including looped bags from paper and fabric. The cultural symbols are found to be in four dimensions. As for symbols, there are turtle-shell houses, Khao Hua Chin mountains, and traditional costumes. As for the academic symbol, it is about weaving. As for aesthetic symbols, it consists of weaving and embroidery ornament. In the part of economic values symbol. Thus, using these symbols to design 9 types of graphics and packaging. Then, have the design rated by the specialist. After that, Bring the three most point average products to discuss with the group member. Brainstorming the comment, sum it up into a real prototype. Then, having the product rated by a representative sample. First is marketing, and second is communicational graphics and packaging. The rating result of both representative groups was high satisfaction and no difference between both representative sample group. Due to the traditional communication design of the graphics. Making it easily acknowledge and understandable.
