Development of Augmented Reality Print Media in 4 Languages for Tourism in Chiang Ban Subdistrict, Chiang Kham District, Phayao Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) explore community knowledge prepared as a database design and development of a print media integrated with virtual reality technology in 4 languages
2) design and develop of print media by using community knowledge in various dimensions as a base, and 3) study the satisfaction of foreign tourists towards the use of the media. The results revealed the following key findings: 1) The community highlighted five outstanding aspects: in Culture, 'Tai Lue dress culture and Tai Lue weaving'; in Tradition, 'Kab Lue'; in Community products, 'Khao Kab Na Ta Dee'; in Tourist attractions, 'Wat Chiang Ban'; and in Local history, 'The Memorial to the sacrifices', 2324. 2) The design and development of a print media included publication in multiple languages as brochures and integration with the Zappar application. 3) Foreign tourists reported high satisfaction with the brochures, averaging 4.10 (S.D. = 0.90), and with the print media integrated with virtual reality technology, averaging 4.17 (S.D. = 0.73). There was a notable desire among tourists to travel to Chiang Ban Sub-district, Chiang Kham District, Phayao Province, following their use of the print media. Overall, foreign tourists expressed a high level of satisfaction after using the print media, averaging 4.09 (S.D. = 0.71). Recommendations from the research include increasing the use of languages to expand the target group of tourists, choosing applications with fewer limitations and addressing language issues in a more sustainable manner.
